Prayer times in Egypt

Egypt is a Muslim-majority country with approximately 90 percent of its 110 million people identifying as Muslim, predominantly Sunni of the Shafi'i and Hanafi schools, with a Coptic Christian minority comprising most of the remainder. Egypt is one of the historic centers of Islamic civilization and learning, anchored by Al-Azhar Mosque and University in Cairo, founded in 970 CE under the Fatimid caliphate and reorganized in the eleventh century, which is widely regarded as the world's oldest continuously operating institution of Islamic higher learning and the most authoritative reference point for Sunni jurisprudence. Other historic mosques include the Mosque of Amr ibn al-As in Fustat, founded in 642 CE as the first mosque in Africa, and the Mosque of Ibn Tulun (879 CE), the oldest surviving mosque in Egypt in its original form.
