🌒 Upcoming solar and lunar eclipses

The next eclipses worldwide, with the Sunnah eclipse prayers (Salat al-Khusuf for lunar, Salat al-Kusuf for solar) the Prophet ﷺ taught us to perform when they occur.

📍 Visibility shown for Columbus, United States

The eclipse prayer (Salāt al-Khusūf / al-Kusūf)

The Prophet ﷺ taught: "The sun and moon are two signs from among the signs of Allah. They do not eclipse for anyone's death or life. So if you see this, pray and supplicate to Allah until it is gone." (Bukhari 1041, Muslim 911) The prayer is two rakʿah, each with two rukūʿ (bowings) and two sujūd (prostrations), recited audibly. Performed individually or in congregation, ideally at the masjid when the eclipse is observable.

Visibility from your exact location: Times shown are eclipse-peak (geocentric) in your local timezone. Lunar eclipses are visible to anyone on the night side of Earth at peak time. Solar eclipses have a narrow path of totality but the partial phase covers a wider region. Cross-reference with NASA or timeanddate.com for precise local visibility from your city. Even a partial eclipse is sufficient reason to pray Salat al-Khusuf / al-Kusuf.
