Silent letter — Written but not pronounced — hamzat al-waṣl, the sun-lām, a silent alif
Ghunnah (nasalisation) — Nasal sound on a doubled nūn or mīm, and the nūn-sākin / tanwīn rules (ikhfāʾ, idghām, iqlāb)
Qalqalah (echo) — A slight bounce on qāf, ṭāʾ, bāʾ, jīm or dāl when they carry a sukūn
Heavy letter (tafkhīm) — Full-mouthed (heavy) letters — khāʾ, ṣād, ḍād, ghayn, ṭāʾ, qāf, ẓāʾ, and a heavy rāʾ
Natural madd (2) — Basic 2-count prolongation — shown on the small dagger-alif, wāw and yāʾ
Madd at a stop (2–6) — A long vowel stretched 2, 4 or 6 counts when you pause on the final letter
Madd before hamza (4–6) — Connected madd (madd + hamza in one word, 4–5) and separated madd (across two words)
Necessary madd (6) — A full 6-count prolongation — also the disconnected letters that open some sūrahs (alif-lām-mīm…)

بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ﱁ قُلْ ﱂ هُوَ ﱃ ٱللَّهُ ﱄ أَحَدٌ ﱅ ١ ﱆ ٱللَّهُ ﱇ ٱلصَّمَدُ ﱈ ٢ ﱉ لَمْ ﱊ يَلِدْ ﱋ وَلَمْ ﱌ يُولَدْ ﱍ ٣
ﱎ وَلَمْ ﱏ يَكُن ﱐ لَّهُۥ ﱑ كُفُوًا ﱒ أَحَدٌۢ ﱓ ٤
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ﱔ قُلْ ﱕ أَعُوذُ ﱖ بِرَبِّ ﱗ ٱلْفَلَقِ ﱘ ١ ﱙ مِن ﱚ شَرِّ ﱛ مَا ﱜ خَلَقَ ﱝ ٢ ﱞ وَمِن ﱟ شَرِّ
ﱠ غَاسِقٍ ﱡ إِذَا ﱢ وَقَبَ ﱣ ٣ ﱤ وَمِن ﱥ شَرِّ ﱦ ٱلنَّفَّـٰثَـٰتِ ﱧ فِى ﱨ ٱلْعُقَدِ ﱩ ٤
ﱪ وَمِن ﱫ شَرِّ ﱬ حَاسِدٍ ﱭ إِذَا ﱮ حَسَدَ ﱯ ٥
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
ﱰ قُلْ ﱱ أَعُوذُ ﱲ بِرَبِّ ﱳ ٱلنَّاسِ ﱴ ١ ﱵ مَلِكِ ﱶ ٱلنَّاسِ ﱷ ٢ ﱸ إِلَـٰهِ
ﱹ ٱلنَّاسِ ﱺ ٣ ﱻ مِن ﱼ شَرِّ ﱽ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ﱾ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ ﱿ ٤ ﲀ ٱلَّذِى
